Angry Crayon Art Exchange - FAQ

There are always questions when we have an event at The Angry Crayon, and sometimes people do not want to ask.  So, here I will add some of the more common questions and answers for those who have thought about joining, but hesitate.



Q: What is The Angry Crayon?

Q: What is a TAC art exchange?

A:  An art exchange is a lot like a Secret Santa exchange.   Every player signs up on our Sign Up List www.theangrycrayon.com/f/threa… Sign Ups are over, and I will take the entrants and pass out names.  Each person will get someone else's name to make artwork for based on the information they provided in the Sign Up thread.  

Each Exchange has its own Theme.  This theme is simple.. Mix it Up!  A mix and match of your favorite types of fantasy or fictional or historical beings.


Q: I am not a 3D artist.  Am I eligible?

A: If your artwork is something that can be distributed or shown digitally, so that your person is able to see their artwork on the turn in day, you are eligible.   We do expect that each person puts effort and time into their image.. You should try your best to put out your best effort for your person, because the person who has you will do the same for you.



Q: I have never posted on TAC before.  Am I eligible?

A: Yes.  We have no minimum post count requirement for entrants.



Q:  I do not know if I will have time to join something like this.  How much time is given to complete your work?

A:  In most exchanges we give a full 6 weeks to work on your project.  With Memorial Day Weekend  being at the 6 week point, we have added another week to finish for this exchange.  Turn ins are due on June 5th of this year.



Q:  What am I supposed to make?

A:  Generally you would make a portrait or Desktop and a signature  ( no bigger than 600 x 300 pixels )  You can add any other sort of gift as desired, so long as you make one item, preferably a desktop or portrait.


Q:  Can I turn in my artwork early?

A:  The turn in thread will be locked until the final day.  If you need to turn in your artwork before the final day, you may give the art to either of the event mods.  Either myself ( Lessa at TAC) or ( Eve at TAC ).  This is a secret exchange, so please do not post or share your work with others until the final day.


Q:  What if something comes up and I will not be able to turn in or finish my piece?

A:  We give a generous amount of time for the event, so that everyone is able to finish something for their person.  We recommend that you start early, in the event that something unexpected does happen, so that your person is not left empty handed.  

If there is some emergency, or some horrible situation barring you from finishing,  let the moderators know AS SOON AS POSSIBLE so we can make arrangements and your person is not empty handed come turn in day.  


Q: Can I make artwork for my own character before/during the event?

A: Absolutely!  If you do, feel free to send to me and I will gladly feature your work.
